Title: Well hello there!
Post by: baberide on October 31, 2019, 03:10:00 AM
Hello! I'm a great fan of the work done here, I've been lurking for years (off and on since 2013 ish) and have finally got some Canon cameras (three EOS-M's and a 700D) specifically because of Magic Lantern.

We use it for the focus peaking, histograms and zebras mainly (the 3x crop came in handy once when I only had a Helios on me) and have started using them for our heavy metal session videos over at The APW on Youtube. They are a significant upgrade from the various GoPro's we were using before!

I plan to do a full RAW multicam shoot at some point, but I'd like to get a load of newer SD cards first. I've had a play with MCM rewire and it looks astounding and I haven't had any problems shooting swans with the one camera in the park, but with H.264 I feel more confident that the cameras will be stable throughout the session. The studio sessions are black-and-white anyway so we just use the monochrome picture profile in-camera.

We wouldn't have been able to shoot with DSLR's/mirrorless cameras with vintage lenses at all without the features Magic Lantern affords to these cheap older cameras. The price of old Soviet, GDR and Takumar lenses helps too! We simply didn't have the budget for anything else, but we love working with what we have now.

Infinite thanks to all involved, you are amazing people.
