Title: Quickest Way From MLV to Davinci Resolve
Post by: najam10 on October 03, 2019, 12:57:35 PM
Hi everyone.

I recently installed MagicLantern on my EOS M and it's amazing. I had some problems with using the .MLV files it records in and couldn't find the best way to import into Davinci Resolve. Apple ProRes is nice but it takes very long to export from the MLV app.

Since then I've found what I think is the best way to get MLV footage into Davinci Resolve and it's all in this video. Please check it out

Thanks

May I ask what are you CPU and memory specs? I'm only curious because exporting Prores vs cDNG out of MLVapp isn't that much slower for me.

Really?  ??? Youtube and this forum is full of tutorials and workflow info.

If you're searching for a even quicker way, you can also use MLVFS. It converts on the fly and you don't need so much diskspace and / or you don't have to delete your MLV files.

BTW: thanks for showing a small bug. In MLVApp export settings, "HDR blending" and "Smooth artifacts" should be greyed out, because it has no effect at all when exporting DNG.

My Specs:

R7 1700
12GB DDR4 Ram
m.2 nVme SSD
GTX 1060

When outputing to Prores it's encoding the video. Exporting to DNG doesn't encode video so it's quicker.
