Title: Magic Lantern lighting up Bike Night
Post by: KirbyLikes525 on July 19, 2019, 05:17:17 PM
My regular summer gig the past 2+ years. This year I learned the hard way that shooting raw at night is a totally different beast than raw during the day.

Thanks @Luther for the blur on animation tip. The transform didn't work on non-moving graphics but your suggestion got my wheels turning to accomplish it with a cross dissolve for the intro.

35mm Rokinon Cine DS

It says video unavailable. Maybe it doesn't work in my country? (USA)

Are you using MLV App with rec709 profile? I wanna see how the shot at 0:13 looks with the tonemapped or film profile ;)

Very good looking video by the way. Really clean low light shots.

Nice! The animation is much better! I'll do a simple tutorial later about this Transform effect, might be of interest to other people...

Thanks! Most of the low light shots were with expanded ISO enabled at 12800 and wide open at T1.5 on the Rokinon Cine DS 35mm. Shots directly under a row of street lights were at ISO 1600 (learned from experience of same venue). Yes, rec 709. Sorry but I already deleted the mlv file for another shoot. I'm still learning how to compensate for back light, shade, or low light when using the expose to the right technique (and module). That shot was ISO 1600 with ETTR hint at 0.0 in camera and exposure adjusted to -1.21 in MLV App though.

wow must have been pretty dark, your low light skill with the 5D2 is impressive

Ah it's deleted, never mind. I just think for that shot it would have been beneficial as the background was very bright and clipped.
