this one turned out really well, at least i think so...

i'm totally loving linear gamma!

Indeed it did came really well. Magnificent work @70MM13 and was all this graded solely within MLV App w the exception of the scene where you had to mask out the red circle LED in Resolve, correct?  The contrast and details in low lighting is just insane!

thanks so much!

unfortunately it was already set up in resolve, so i finished it in there.  i had a thought of restarting in mlvapp, but that red led issue made me pause from that idea and just finish it in resolve...

but...

i think that with the exception of the led, it would have looked even better from mlvapp!

i had to use a second node on each and every shot to bring up the shadows more than was possible with a single curve in resolve's "true" linear mode.  i had to use a second curve with a bump at the bottom to get the same results i was getting with mlvapp from a single curve.

resolve just doesn't handle canon raw properly.  obviously it's not a priority for them.

workarounds are fairly easy, i suppose, but not needed with mlvapp!

i will DEFINITELY be grading my next video with mlvapp.
