Title: New Series of Filmmaking Tutorials - Shot in Raw - 5D3
Post by: Rob Curd on January 29, 2019, 08:55:19 PM
Hi guys,

Have just started a series on Youtube teaching filmmaking basics. The idea is that I teach as I learn to hopefully improve my skills and others can benefit.

I shot everything in raw. I know there are some talented people on this forum so was hoping to get your honest opinion of how I can improve it ready for episode 2.

Thanks in advance

Hi Rob, my impressions: good talking, good shooting, nice subdued lighting, not too in-your-face presentation. Only problem is the examples choice: you took shots from the Shawshank Redemption that are not related with the rule of thirds. For example, when you have two people talking one at each third of the screen that`s not rule of third, that`s technically a centered shot. Rule of thirds is when you have only one person or object and it is shown decentered according to the grill you show.
