Title: shooting raw affect shutter count?
Post by: dpdp on January 27, 2019, 04:19:47 AM
how does shooting raw affect the shutter count? Is it like shooting video where one video is only one to the shutter count? Or does every frame affect the shutter count?

Liveview activation and closing can be seen as one shutter count.

If you activate liveview, the shutter opens, you can then record one clip or 10 or 100, doesn't matter for the shutter count, once you close liveview, the shutter closes and that's one shutter count.

During video recording the physical shutter isn't used.

Not sure which tab, one at the end, but in Magic lantern menu you can see both shutter count value and a separate value for liveview activations.

I apologize for my ignorance but why is shutter count important for you?

One point: fps*record time shutter actuations a session might confuse Canon and void claims of warranty (if any).
