Title: Trouble getting 7D to boot
Post by: 247guy on June 16, 2018, 07:44:25 PM
Hey guys, I've been trying for hours to install ML to no avail. Was hoping for some guidance

First off:
YES, I do have the correct firmware but for my camera and the nightly build.
Im doing everything EXACTLY as the guide says. I've followed the guide, watched videos, and done everything perfectly like 6 times, with no luck.
I am using a CF to SD card adapter and Im putting the files on that. I'm guessing that might be where my problems are coming from.

When I try to update the firmware, I hit the button, and the screen goes completely black. No buttons work and it last indefinitely. When I open the memory card door and take the card out, it comes back to life and says that system update cant find a file (obviously since the card is out). When I take the battery out and return it, the camera works perfectly normally.

Would love any input yall have on this, been trying for hours, and I'm usually pretty competent at these kinds of things. Thanks for the help!

Fine. Bug found. Now get rid of it.

The exact same thing happened to me. I think the CF adapter is the source of the problem. The difference is that my 7D (occasionally) won't boot when I turn it on. I had to reinsert the card and battery multiple time until finally the camera booted.
