Title: ADVICE/HELP NEEDED with Canon 5d mkiii
Post by: ljbxxx99 on March 12, 2018, 05:46:32 PM
Hello there,

So myself and some fellow students are hoping to use magic lantern to shoot with a 5d mkiii for our graduate film - however we need some advice. The film is short fiction and we'll be filming for about 8-9 hours, so i'm assuming that shooting raw is out of the question (read that)...

"You get 25 minutes of 1080p on a 128GB card"

Although we're limited to a 5d, we are hoping to use magic lantern to up our image quality and generally produce a more beautiful film, without having to worry about filling up the card within half an hour's worth of footage etc - is this possible? perhaps just by filming on h.264 or 2k? Any and all advice given our current situation would be much appreciated - please tell us our best possible choices and aid us on the journey to produce nicer clips while not using an insane amount of memory or having to buy extremely expensive cards, like a 128gb cf card that's around £130 (e.g the san disk extreme pro).

Feel free to email me on [email protected] or [email protected] with any advice, it'd mean a lot!

Cheers
