Title: How to determine current RAW bit-depth
Post by: LimeCordil on February 09, 2018, 05:53:11 AM
Okay so i've heard a bunch of people here talking about 14-bit, 12-bit and 10-bit RAW. How in the world do I know which one I'm currently shooting at and how do I change it?

I'm using a 5D Mk III and don't shoot in crop mode.

I would also like to know this.

If you are asking you are either using H.264 (8 bit) or uncompressed 14 bit raw.

I would like to know if the video was shot at 8, 10, 11, 12 or 14 bits uncompressed or losslessly compressed after the clip has been shot and then, upon inspection in the video viewer or editor (MLVApp, MLV Producer, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).  Right now, it looks like the editors can distinguish only between 10, 12 and 14 bits uncompressed.

@IDA_ML: Looks like you want to open a feature request.

If I'm not wrong, in MLV Produccer there is the info palette, where you can view this info.
