I am new to ML and have a quick question. Is there a way to use the HDR mode with the intervolmeter to take 3 images in HDR mode every 3 second?

Just turn on both features. The intervalometer works fine with HDR. Just test it to make sure that all 3 shots can be taken in that 3s interval without running over. Could cause some dropped frames.

would it better to change the interval to 5 seconds?

It would be less likely to miss shots.
