Title: Davinci rendered video not the same quality as preview playback
Post by: cyberj on November 14, 2017, 12:31:19 PM
Hello!

I recently started working with Magic Lantern raw on my Mark iii and color correcting in Davinci Resolve.

I use rec709 for color space in Davinci and just do color/exposure correcting. The footage in the preview looks great but the rendered video is flat. I'm outputting in 1920 x 1080 HD (I'm recording in that resolution as well) and using Apple ProRes 422HQ.

Has anyone experienced this? Shouldn't the rendered video look like it does in the preview?

Strictly speaking, it can, but not should.
It depends on so much variables, my best guess (just because you're on Mac):
DaVinci Resolve > Preferences > System > Hardware Configuration

Turn off "Use Mac Display Color Profile for Viewers"
