You could do that without HDR as i don't see any increase in the dynamic range of the picture (actually, it is lower than the original picture for sure) .

ilguercio you are correct, though the the reds would not have popped like they did in post of hdr. Which is why I went for HDR. Otherwise I would have been left with a muddy red look :)
