Maybe it's a good idea to scan the forum for such links (using a script) and re-host them locally.
Hmm, most image hosting sites will allow uploads via url (one link per line).
There's probably already a script out there somewhere that just needs minor tweaking to suit particular circumstances.

If you have made forum contributions (in particular, but not limited to, images linked from a Dropbox public forum), and editing your own messages with updated links is not practical (for any reason), please send me an archive of those files you have linked here, keeping the directory structure, and I'll re-host them on the server.

There's also likely to be some duplicates like vram*.***, these will need my manual intervention I guess.
edit: Ummm, one of my medium folders is at 350MB and still downloading. So I guess I'll have well over 1TB. :o
If I share the folders, can you automagically rehost the images directly from dropbox? Else I'll strip the CR2/DNG/RAW since these would have only been needed for testing I guess, which should reduce the size significantly.

As long as they follow the same directory structure, on a different host, I can do a find/replace easily.

Is anyone aware of a method to somewhat easily clone dropbox to another host. I'm not looking forward to doing it the hard way. I've tried SME cloud tools (https://storagemadeeasy.com/clients_and_tools/), but either I'm to dense, or need a paid account, or both.
I was hoping that more users would complain about broken image links, inspiring me to silently update links here and there, every now and then. But I guess since the forum doesn't display a missing image place holder, most images simply go unnoticed.
I've past the 50% point for updating embedded images.
