Title: Can the 5DIII ML RAW shoot continously 2.5k?
Post by: zerocool22 on February 14, 2017, 01:29:53 PM
Hey,

With my computerbay 1066x I can only shoot continously 1080p. But could I increase resolution and still shoot continously? (50FPS at 1080p without scaling would also be more then welcome)

Thanks!

According to the tool, yes you can record continuous 2.5k but only in crop mode and 10 bit depth.
Don't know in practice though.

Thanks, is there a topic somewhere with tests/examples of quality drop while shooting cropped?

FYI, continuous 2.8k 2.39:1 is possible. That's a 2x crop. Same as MFT.

10bit looks damn good in my experience.

But first things first: the preview in 10 and 12 bit crop mode is frozen when recording. There's little point in worrying about crop mode tradeoffs until (if) it will be fixed.
