Title: SD Card Speeds
Post by: Frarike on January 13, 2017, 07:45:48 PM
I just got the Sandisk Extreme 90MB/s 32gb as I thought it'd be good enough.

Through magic lantern I got 39MB/s for both read and write and on crystle disk mark.

Not sure which is most correct. On 70D so only need 41 write. Should I return and upgrade to extreme pro?

The SD controller on the camera is limited. For example 700D couldn't write faster than 40MB/s, the limit for 60D is about 20MB/s

That means this new Sony Ultra Fast SD card will not achieve this speed on 5D mark 3?

No, and probably not on any other current camera either, as they weren't built to take advantage of a non-existent card. Are there even card readers that can make the most of its read speeds yet?
