Title: 500D T1i Firmware 1.1.1?
Post by: shhe8036 on January 07, 2017, 04:26:53 AM
I just updated my 500D T1i to firmware v1.1.2 so I can no longer use Magic Lantern. Does anyone know where I can find the old 1.1.1 download?

Thanks so much!

I'm in the same situation.  I'm looking for the downgrade.

I found this link http://www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-II-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-2-4/download/ (http://www.userdrivers.com/Digital-Camera/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-II-Digital-SLR-Camera-Firmware-Update-1-2-4/download/).  I downloaded the Mac .dmg file but haven't tried it.

Good luck!

You can find an archive of firmware updates on Pelican's website (http://pel.hu/). For the 500D 1.1.1 it is here:

http://pel.hu/down/v111-t1i-500d-x3-win.exe

Hum--just noticed that some of his files are Windows (.exe) binaries while others are generic zip files. I was able to extract it on a Mac using Wine.app. The Mac and Windows versions on the Canon sites are basically the same. All you really need is the .FIR file copied onto an SD card to do the upgrade/downgrade.

These exe files are just selfextracting zip files. You don't need wine on OS X, just run
unzip *.exe
or
unzip filename.exe Open a terminal in the folder where you downloaded it and you get your FIR extracted.

I have a 500d canon and I would like to install MAGIC LANTERN but it does not work because I have version 1.0.9.
I would like to update to version 1.1.1 but all the links I find are no longer valid find.
Where can I find version 1.1.1?

Older firmware links seem to be dead.
I found this firmware version at the following link today.

https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SCANNER-Digital-CAMERA-WEBCAM/CANON/Canon-EOS-REBEL-T1i-Camera-Firmware-111.shtml

I downloaded and installed it successfully (as far as I can tell).

I also keep a copy of Canon firmware updaters 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 on my downloads page (https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads/). Look for the file named 500D Canon Firmware for Testers.zip

Just an FYI -- I did port ML to 1.1.2 (https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=11864.msg199872#msg199872) about a year ago. There were a few issues with it but then again there were some issues with 1.1.1 too. Maybe some of the latest lua_fix commits helped?
