Title: Focus/Spotmeter for Manual lens
Post by: garry23 on January 06, 2017, 04:27:02 PM
Does anyone know if it is possible to move the ML focus point around on an EOSM is one is using a manual lens.

Either through the UI or Lua.

If this is not possible, I wonder if 'someone' (who can) could consider adding this to the Lua inerface?

At the moment, with a manual lens, unless I'm missing something, you can move this focus point or (ML) spot meter around.

Probably other recent cameras have the same issue.

A1ex

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to put up with this 'feature' on the EOSM :(

I can move it OK on my 5D3 :)

Cheers

Hi Garry,

I found myself with the box in a weird position and not being able to re-center it or move it with a manual lens attached. The only way I know is to put on an EF-M lens (EF through adapter also works) move the box then switch lenses.

Here's more information about this "feature":

@dfort

Daniel, great minds think alike: that's what I did to recentre things.

Let's hope the gurus can find a fix  ;)

By the way, if you (or anyone else), has an EOSM build that drives EF (sic) lenses, ie you have confirmed that yourself, I would love if you could send me that build, as I still can't drive an EF lens with my EOSM; and I've tried several different builds.

Cheers

Garry

BTW my EOSM Toggler and the sim-Q script have really made my EOSM 'usable' for this fat fingered photographer ;D
