First, one question: Does live view work on the 5dIII while 10bit raw recording ?

Second:
Wow, great amount of detail, with youtube compression 8)

So Canon 5dIII with magic lantern:
3K, 10bit raw (continuous) with 1:2.67 aspect ratio and crop factor of 1.8

Canon 5dIV:
4K, 8bit motionjpeg with 16:9 aspect ratio and crop factor of 1.7

10 & 12bit ML raw is a great development. The detail does look good  but there's some horrible effects of image stabilization, baccinoluigi is that Resolves stabilization settings or IS in the lens, maybe it's even softened the detail if it's been stabilized in post and zoomed a bit to reframe.

@Levas, yes it works in live view, shooting at 3200 x 1200 at 23 fps you can get continuos video, to see more detail on YouTube I use to upload a prores 422 video it's longer  but it works the video was 29gb in prores 422,  3 days to upload it

@teatotalTed, I was keeping camera by hand so sometimes
stabilizaion software cannot fix it at best, anyway Davinci has a good stabilization
without losing detail.

Thanks for the reply, I use Resolve and it's stabilization is good, although inevitably it needs the 'zoom' box ticked as well to scale up a bit and loose the skewed framing. Agree post stabilizing can leave warping morphing effect whatever. So IS lens stabilization was not enough, just wondered as getting my first IS lens soon, Canon EF-S 10 - 15 IS II.

@baccinoluigi, are you saying that you got liveview during recording ?
I've tried (on the 6d) the latest raw_rec module from 20 november, and during recording liveview freezes...

Great video!!! Thanks for sharing! Love the place and the takes. Yo can go all the way with colors without any remorse. Believe me, RAW have great color latitudes without going all saturated. I think that you can render using h.264 without any notice in loss details, just go with a high bit rate, like 20,000+. Please use tripode next time!!! :D

It only shows "3520 x 1320" on my 5d3. how do you get "3584 x 1320" option?

When you are in the option menu with 3520 just scroll the wheel

3520 is the last resolution. no 3584 option!!

Try this build
https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit_crop_rec.2016Dec24.5D3113.zip
or
https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit.2016Dec20.5D3123.zip
But  if you  want to change resolution when you are in the menu with 3520x 1320
use the wheel on top of the camera for increase or decrease resolution

i did. still no luck. its 3520.

Im not concerned or obsessed with 3584 at all. there is not much difference between 3584 and 3520! im just wondering why people talk about 3584 while there is no such thing shown in my menu.

ML -->Movie -->Raw Video -->Resolution  when you're in resolution without open menu scoll the wheel on top or move the joystick left and right you should increment or decrement vertical resolution of 16 pixel each time you move it

Hello! I'm trying to install the latest version to record 4k, I install the "experiments" Latest Build (2017-04-10 19:48), for 5d3123, but when I run it, the options in movie don't appear, and no option to record 4k . Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Any way, I have tried some functions, and it works quite unstable, I have aswell a canon 60d and ml works OK on it and adds wonderful features to the camera.

Thank you!!

Myself new to this blog.

Planning to make a low budget film. Exploring options for buying the gear.

How do you recommend 5d Mark III 10 bit 3.8K Raw Video recording as against new gen of Mirrorless ccameras. (likes of GH 5, A7 r/s 2)

heard about painful post process of ML workflow, is it really worth investing in 2017 for a 5DM3 ?

how reliable is the output along with frame rates and noise levels @ low light and in normal light conditions in general?

Experts like you all people know in and outs about ML 10 / 12 bit RAW process.

Actually keen to get that RAW footage @ less price with good output capability.

The next nearest, in my view is BMD ursa mini pro w 12 bit RAW lossless.

Any advice and thoughts are positive welcome.

Thnx
