Title: ML with Canon T3i Full HD Video
Post by: jeremygadd on June 02, 2016, 11:50:09 AM
I'm considering buying a Rebel T3i as a B camera for video and want to use it for HD video (PAL btw). All I really want to know is if I use ML will I still be able to get 1920x1080 video? I say this as I have read a lot of stuff about ML RAW and it seems to produce some odd sizes, like 1920x1164. Is the latter referring to the Live View display or the output file?

In short, I just simply want to capture 1920x1080 and as long as ML can do this, I'm happy (for now). Thanks.

The T3i cannot record full HD raw, or anything close to it. The only canon camera that can record full HD raw, as of this moment, is the 5D mk III. I would not recommend the T3i as a B camera these days, it's so out of date and behind most normal DSLR's today, that it's not worth the investment.
