Title: Liveview aspect ratio
Post by: JanKocbek on April 03, 2016, 08:01:44 PM
I'm on latest 6D Ml and I have to record some wall projections, which will always be in different ratios. When i started with ML, I remember that if people wanted to use 2.35:1, they were advised to tape the top and bottom of the physical liveview on camera. Is this still the practical way, or is there some sort of ML solution I'm not aware of? I could record 3:2, 16:9 or whatever is default, and then crop/adjust with software, but I need to maximize the quality and recording time, given the limited writing speed of 6d. Corrections would take time with raw, and i do feel a bit blind without ML 'conforming' liveview to what is shot.

I don't have my camera in front of me right now, but I believe you would go into the RAW menu and set Global Draw to ALLOW, to enable the cropmarks during the recordings.

Hope that helped.
