Title: Camera Temperature in degrees Celsius
Post by: kyselejsyrecek on January 09, 2016, 01:30:43 PM
Hello,

I found something interesting when reading through metadata of a CR2 image from my EOS 500D.

exiftool -s -G IMG_9226.CR2 | grep Temperature
[MakerNotes]    CameraTemperature               : 21 C

I remember ancient images from thermal cameras trying to figure out how to convert raw temperature values into conventional units and then discarding the whole temperature thingie from ML menu. Maybe this would be a more convenient approach for finding an approximate formula? Quite interestingly, the temperature information is present also in my very first photo taken with the camera (without ML, of course). I never knew the DLSR has put information like that in every photo.
