Title: Magic Lantern won't install due to message: 'Could not enable boot flag'
Post by: scotthalliday2000 on June 24, 2015, 02:01:17 PM
Hi guys,

I am trying to install ML on my EOS 550D with a 16GB micro SD card through an SD adapter.

I follow all the instructions and when i go to format the card (with the ML files on the card), after a moment, the screen displays: 'Could not enable boot flag' in red writing.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!!

Scott Halliday

The installer was updated recently. Can other 550D users confirm the new installer works for them?

Tried a 550D at work. Can confirm the red "could not enable bootflag" problem. Won,t install. Running firmware 1.0.9. Formatted card in camera.
Transcend 16 gb card.

Can you try this installer? ML-SETUP.FIR (http://a1ex.magiclantern.fm/bleeding-edge/installer/550D.109/ML-SETUP.FIR)

(I'm not home, so can't try it myself)
