I have only a basic laptop with me, i am shooting some things and i would like to check the footage, generate low quality proxys and work with themActually, yes! I thought about it, and i did it in prototype. There are several ways to improve encode speed: H264 with low bit-rate, Fast PreRes codec, using leaner or pixeldemosaicing or even double downscale. Color space conversion does not affect the speed. I can implement a few methods.
but I having black-level problemsI just added black level control manually.
and at play back I get flashing frames some are B/W others are just white or black. And i fixed the problem with frame cache.
It would be nice if you could explain the key functionsIn the near future I'm going to write the manual. But it's simple.
and or Hot keys usedThere's no hot keys yet. But will be.
I think you should include Cdng'sI need to dig in cdng file format
One last thing, It would great to give the file Info (metadata) e.g. Frame W/H ,fps, ISO, etc....Sure!
Hi AWPStar, could you implement:-yes
-in/out points for export
-lower quality preview but faster
-ability to drag/drop many files and buttons/hot keys for next/previous
WOW Very nice =)So Cinelog is OpenSource, but i cant use it without integrading with OpenColorIO?
Its open source ?
If possible, please, please just integrate this http://opencolorio.org/ on the app for we use Cinelog from Andy6000 and LUT's. I don't have time for today to try out your app but if the recover buttons (shadows/highlight) work good it will be just wonderful. In ACR you can't do this because you will have exposure change in the video. Looks very promising =) ...of course h.265 would be more nice :P 8)
Hi @AWPStar - Nice idea! I have a suggestion/request. Before adding a bunch of editing/grading features, concentrate on integrating pixel-accurate, fast metering (i.e. a vectorscope, RGB parade, histogram etc). Most of these transcoding apps fail because the end user cannot accurately judge things like white balance, levels, saturation etc - it's not something that can be done easily without scopes, even by a pro on a calibrated reference monitor. There is histogram. I want to add waveform/RGB parade. Vectorscope not now. mb later.
Also, why not just pickup development on MLRawViewer instead of building an app from scratch? The source code is available and it's 'nearly there' in terms of usability. It could use a more visually intuitive point-and-click GUI rather than hotkeys and, of course, meters.
If you plan to integrate certain ML algorithms (by a1ex) you will be required to publish your source code due to GNU licensing conditions.
Keep up the good work! :)
looks promising, nice.a) Why not? But not now. In addition: code in FreeBasic and VB6.
some questions about your code:
a) is it open source?
b) does it use any of ML's code?
c) do you include header files like mlv.h?
a) okay, but open source is highly encouragedNo, i meant RAW. Sorry, just missed one word =)
b)/c) good to hear then
you mean MLV format?
sure, what do you want to know?
structure: [raw image][raw image][raw image][raw image][raw image][raw image]....[raw_info_footer]Footer at the end? Interesting. Do you you know footer's structure
Do you need DNG sequences or just single DNG?mlv or raw file. But single dng will be usefull.
What about open source ?As i already said. Why not? But not now. It's not ready yet. And i use two very unpopular languages - i think that source will be useless. But still, why not.
As you may know we highly prefer OS here...
And I think that we don't want to start another "bad plan"...
So your comments about this fact are welcome !
error 404Works fine with Chrome, Opera, Firefox, any proxys, and even with TorBrowser and Maelstrom.
so maybe it was already deletedNo, it is exist.
Looks Great, definitely noticeable improvement .Thank you. I simply use downloaded photos from internet. It's more accurate.
What Camera model did you use for the Test Image ?
Keep Up the great work :)
How I can see it: http://s2.postimg.org/xkpc92mwp/image.png at this pic, far building at the left side has horizontal vertical horizontal lines - looks ok, at this one http://s2.postimg.org/tx9l30epl/image.png same building lost these lines, kind of small squares there now.Hi!
http://s2.postimg.org/h4lh3333t/vv1.png at this pic colors line are fine, but at http://s2.postimg.org/q3g4tuxdl/vv3.png have visible artifacts on the edges and aliasing
Looks promising.WB picker is ready. 3D Lut(Adobe cube) in progress. Trying to increase speed.
Do you've in plan to add WB picker and 3D-LUT import/apply?
DitheringI think it's hard to see this effect.
Audio HandlingI still need mlv-samples with audio tracks. From different cams.
I don't really understand what the problem do you have with sliders. Its smooth and accurate. Left click to set value, mid click to reset value, shift to improve accuracy.
What OS do you use?
But when I try to open a MLV, it just does nothing, did I something wrong?"With menu->Open MLV/RAW"? Have you tried drag files?
But I had the Function "Remove focus dots" on, but they are still there :/Can you send me MLV sample? This function can actually not work with some resolutions. i have to correct it.
v.1101
-added: New color space "Cinematic"
-added: Support audio
-added: Import/Export queue
-added: Program Settings
-added: Default settings
-added: Custom directories
-added: External folder for LUTs
-added: Hot pixel filters
-added: Real-time preview
-added: auto WB
-added: Copying tasks settings
-added: Scaling 3x5

-fix: focus dots filter
-fix: out of memory error
-fix: jpg exporting
-removed: Adobe LUT-files
I'd like to make a feature request for an additional lut filter slot.Probably, i can add second lut-filter.
colorspace to use with luts designed for log footage? Can you send me one of these Lut-files to testing?
when you save a preset with the name "default" all clips should automatically be opened with that name applied so that you don't have to apply preset to each clip, this way you can truly batch process a group of clipsi want to add linking presets with cameras.
v.1165
-added: Browse for LUTs
-added: Button for dropper (or W key)
-added: .RAW multiple files support (RAW, R00, R01,..)
-added: Histogram layout
-added: F11 to Maximize window
-fix: Hotkeys out of window
-fix: External luts folder
If your app could support SLOG2 or CLOG or LOGC, or VISIONLOGI need right functions/formulas to convert image form linear cs. i can not find it.
- presets for hot pixel removal and corrections do not get picked after being copied from old to the new MLV Producer presets folderty. i will fix it.
- none of the h.264 renderings can be played out on my samsung TV. H.246 movs directly from my 600d camera play out without problem.Probably your TV does not support h264 with non-intermediate frames. I will add preset with simple codec settings.
- Adding configurable strings for ffmpeg invocation presets would be nice as well. That is a good idea. I will try to implement it.
General question to all MLV Producer users - what FPS do you get on h.264 renderings? My tests.
@dpjpandoneI need right functions/formulas to convert image form linear cs. i can not find it.
so i have made the color space that is in my opinion the most suitable for export. I know that this is one of the reasons why the program is not so popular.
(edit)
ok, i found tech-doc (https://pro.sony.com/bbsccms/assets/files/micro/dmpc/training/S-Log2_Technical_PaperV1_0.pdf) for sLog2
v = (379.0 * (log2(linear * 16384.0 / 7200.0 + 0.037584)/log2(10.0)) + 630.0) / 1024.0linear = (0 to 1)
y = ( 0.432699 * log10(155.0 * x / 219.0 + 0.037584 ) + 0.616596 ) + 0.03x = (0 to 1)
scale = (2**14.0)/float(l.n-1.0)But it's just normalizing.
f = float(i)*scale
but i wish there would be a "none" setting to export videoIt is linear.
focus dots remover works great, only can notice it if i shift exposure to +5found this bug!
-added: Common H264 codec
-added: Highlights clipping button
-added: Saving window position
-added: file folder as default option
-added: playback from start by pressing Space

I will accept any ideas of functionality, filters or challenges :)
2. moving waveform or histogram to the right bar, disappear it http://puu.sh/knuLD/0dc5a1d6d1.jpg
It seems that I cannot open a MLV file using Open With... and selecting MLVProducer in this versionIt is definitely OS problem. Command line should work.
If you will try to resize main window, will it refresh these tools?no, and it will not, if i try to resize waveform window by dragging little thing on left-bottom corner of that window
@eatbuckshot It is definitely OS problem. Command line should work.
@kutu
weird bug.
If you will try to resize main window, will it refresh these tools?
Does WineSkin support multithreading?Yes, it does!
I did it
@DeafEyeJedi
CLogC, REDLog and Cineon have the same curves. I can make an option for curves tool "Save curve as color space".

dng contains raw data. there is no reason to use this app, if you want to save your footage to raw. i can use mlv_bump to extract dng's, but what's the point?
For now i probably can handle with uncompressed 16bit cdng.
But it will take more disk space than MLV-file as cdng doesn't support 14bit mode. Only 8,10,12,16.
@kgv5 @DeafEyeJedi @reddeercity @Thobias @mothaibaphotoThen you will have most powerful tool for RAW video enthusiastic creators! I made my day, dude=) Thanks!
You have convinced me. I will implement it. :) But it will take a long time.

Also dng specificationI don't want to implement all of DNG-tags. Most of them is useless because MLV doesn't contains some information.
http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/photoshop/pdfs/dng_spec_1.4.0.0.pdf#page19
the file cannot be opened in Premiere eitherStrange. It works with ACR in AE and PS.

Subtracting the black level in the output data is a bad idea. You r right. i actually did it as test.
Premiere and SpeedGrade are picky and don't actually conform to the full CDNG standard.Yes, but as i understand, cdng requires uncompressed data or lossless JPEG. And Premiere supports them.
also, "BMDFilm" is a good choice for 600d?idk. It depends on what you want to get.
i found that there was no *.wav file inside the folderNot ready yet)
it was opened but only one frame was visible, not a movie.Timecodes are not ready too.

Works with options: "Remove focus dots", "Remove hot pixels", "Remove Vertical Stripes", "BlackLevel", "Exposure"
Scaling is not ready(I do not know what's inside this tag.).
Are you looking into render output settings customization? What do you mean?
And then perhaps NVENC or quicksync support? Not now=)
-vcodec h264_qsvwith ffmpeg. But i can not test it. I don't have Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge CPU.
I see that the remove strips didn't work, at least for the 7DIt calculates pattern when you are checking "remove vertical stripes" option. Try it on another frame.
Go to "MyComputer/Z:/Volumes/..." ;-)
Have you tried drag'n'drop?
Well as soon as I click on the 'Z' after 'MyComputer' ... it freezes and have to force quit and restart as expected.
So how come it works on your end, @masc?
Doesn't seem to do anything? Drag from Mac windows into MLVP is what I did ... is what what you were referring to?
Working on creating a Mac Version (via Wine Bottler and Wine Tricks). This app looks like it is the new best thing for "developing" MLV files into Prores files for editing (since MLrawViewer stopped working for me). Got everything working UNTIL I click on the "..." to set the output path, which results in a "Runtime error '445'" and the app crashing. Very keen to get this working as it outstrips other programs by a mile.
I would be fine to continue working on packaging MLVP using Wine Bottler, but if you're using Free Basic and VB6 then I might be able to compile a native Mac app using the sources (Free Basic is cross platform and Mono supports VB for Mac). Would love to collaborate and make MLV Producer the end all utility!

@dpujolcosta
Yes, send it to me please. i'll fix it.
I don't prefer clicking 300+ times to remove focus dots on all the clips. You can open Media queue, select file, press "Copy" button, then paste settings to all of tasks.

You can also use "dot32.dat", "dot32_2.dat" , "dot32_crop.dat". These files contains different patterns.

Here's a closeup of some focus pixels before processing in cr2hdr.(https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/proxy.php?request=https%3A%2F%2Ffarm1.staticflickr.com%2F723%2F21904694364_6bfa57295f_z.jpg&hash=3d0650e34e3d0e5aaa05a386c938d196)
The horizontal lines aren't static, they appear to be marching up the frame thus giving the appearance that the focus pixels are jumping around. After processing in cr2hdr or MLVFS the pixels appear to be "smeared" vertically. See one of my early posts for an example of this. I think that dcraw is averaging the surrounding pixels when the "badpixel" file is being processed but this isn't working with dual_iso shots. It seems to me that only the pixels to the immediate left and right of the focus pixel should be used to fill in the "bad" focus pixel and this should probably be done before processing in cr2hdr. Does that seem right? Maybe run it though a version of dcraw that only averages by columns and not rows first and then feed the output into cr2hdr? Is that possible?
searched your repository but couldn't find the "dot32*.dat" files that have the pixel coordinates. It's in "data" folder of main program.
So three options are all it takes for all the cameras with the focus pixels issue at every possible resolution or do you have a few patterns and scale them for various resolutions?i just use center(+- 2 pixels) of a frame.
I've got lots of questionsFeel free to ask.

@mothaibaphotoWow, you make it possible to edit DNG tags this way... I'm not shure does it useful though, but better to have than not :)
You cen use "Exposure" option. it affects on the White Level. Just set it to ~+0.11
Hi, Thrandurin!
Thanks!
i'm working on dual-iso.
3. Are these tags useful?ISO - to apply appropriate noise profile,
Hi AWPStar how is dual iso going? In Progress ;)
@eatbuckshotnp!
Sorry, i was unavailable. I will research this.
In the info panel some MLV say that the shutter is at 20ms and i shoot at 50 (48)20ms = 1/50 sec
I'm still getting the pink thing in the highlights, like the sun in the CDNGI'm not sure why this is happening. MLVP doesn't make changes into raw data(except focus dot removing).
I have 30 MLV files, that i need to put all in ProRes 444You can edit all files(global edit mode) or in group(group mode).
The app didnt generate any wav files.I know this problem. I will fix it to the next version.
When i have lot of clips i usually go through all of them, so play clip, set in/out for the best part, render, next, set in/out, render next and go on, like 100-150 times. One more useful feature would be an automatic file/folder name change if i am willing to render, lets say, 3 short parts out of the same, long clip - now you have to change the name by hand to avoid overwriting/render to the same folder (name would be the same).
I think we need "reset" button next to every sliderYou can reset values. 3rd mouse button or double-click.
it seems it always render 24fpsI just checked the code. Yes. it's another bug) Thx!

With this filter you,ll export a H264 HDR file or any other sequence (MLV/RAW shot in HDR) through FFmpeg straight to a ready to use merged file. Only this file will still keep the same frames per second.ffmpeg "$file" -vcodec prores_ks -pix_fmt yuv444p10 -vf "tblend=all_mode=average" -f matroska - | ~/Library/Services/MLP.workflow/Contents/ffmpeg -i -vcodec prores_ks -pix_fmt yuv444p10 -r $(echo $fps / 2 | bc -l) HDR_"$file"
I prefer to use right mouse button. So you can just slide down whole list.
3 reasons:
1. it is more accurate.
2. Workspace is free from unnecessary controls.
3. Fast access.
what about mouse wheelOk. But i can't test it because my mouse has VERY twitching wheel)

I can't get the Canon Log C to look right when I use a Canon Log C to LOG LUT (from Impulz) on premiere.Do you ahve ability to choose input color space in premiere?
looks like it's lowered at least a stop or two lower than what is on camera? To match images you can set exposure to ~+1.0, or set green correction to "Lift"
For FPN: Am I right that we're supposed to profile the noise for each ISO? I made FPN profile for each ISO steps and if that was the case, is it possible to add an option to make it so that MLVP pick the correct ISO from the available profile?Сan you guarantee that FPN at all your footages will be the same? I doubt.
What's the difference between visionLOG 1 and 2? I thought there's only 1?Vision Log color space cannot be represented as a curve. So i've made 2 variants. And i'm not really sure what is closer to original.
Could you make it so that the Include Audio option can be enabled by default?Yes)
I notice there's a color calibration option when you paste settings on the media queue. Is this for calibration targets? This option for a spherical camera in vacuum. For some cameras, this can make the colors more natural.
is it possible to export to lagartih-losless-codec?ffmpeg doesn't support lagarith encoding. For now.
Do you ahve ability to choose input color space in premiere?
Copy&Paste works well - color-calibration will not be copied? No, it will be copied.
Sorry to break this to you but 7D is one of the few cameras that does NOT support Dual-ISO for video recording atm but currently does work for Photo only.
the selected LUT does not get appliedThx!
Any chance of making the scrollbar for the scrollable tools a bit thicker/wider.I'll see what i can do)
Maybe this is something that can be disabled.I can make something like gui freezing option.
@feureau
Does it crashes the application?
It appears because file is opened.

But i'm not recommend you to use this feature. Because it's just a test. Quality is pretty poor.
@ibrahim
Try to resize input tool. Probably it is out of view.
Also: Is it possible to make it so that MLVProducer remembers all the settings used between sessions, like having a default profile with all the custom settings set, so that every time we import a footage, it will set all possible settings to that? Lightroom has this ability to set everything as default profile and it's really useful to adopt to individual workflows. Now the only way is to save\load presets. But i think i can make this option.

And the audio is synced, but not linked in Davinci Resolve.I don't know how Resolve works with audio - how to link audio with it. Can you explain that? Probably i can do something to make it easier..?
Where do I donate? At the top-right corner of the main window. :D
@feureau

Hi AWPStar,
Again message error: Out of memory.
And I can't open any mlv from a 5D mk3. Tried in MLVP 2164 INTEL and MLVP 2183 INTEL.
In MLVP 1944: Run-time error '6': Overflow
Can I do something more?
Thank you very much.
@pc_bel

Probably this bag will be eliminated in new version.
Can you cut this new mlv with mlv_dump and sent to me. Or full file if you can.

False detection. This file was compressed by upack.
I would recommend to revoke this version and replace it by a clean version.I will. but false detection doesn't make this version not clean.

I plan to implement automatic updates
My antivirus is flagging MLVProducer as an virus (trojan) could you fix this? I'm using avira antivirus. Not sure why this is happening. i'll try to figure it out.

Anyone testing this with files produced by "MLV Lite"?
@sgofferj
I did some windows scaling support, but it was a long time ago. i need to rework it.
Can you make screenshot how it looks?
Just discovered this. Is the wine solution still the one for mac?

Also the "include audio' and related radio buttons aren't present in that window. You can scroll down all tabs. Or resize window.
I had some trouble with hot pixel removal, but I'll keep reading up on the forum here and see if I can figure it outWhat do you open? MLV or RAW?
16bit TIFF export would be cool?Actually all tiffs that presented in exports list are 16 bit.
i'll install ubuntu and try to figure out how to fix this.

I suppose I could use MLVP to remove the focus pixels, and then do my own dark frame subtraction in processing
...Then I have custom code that computes an average dark frame and subtracts it during my post-processing, and it works very well. So perhaps that indicates that something could be changed in MLVP in terms of how the FPN is applied?
Interesting ... could you eleborate more on this? What exactly does your code do during post-processing? If you don't mind me asking if you could share with us -- that would be awesome and thanks for sharing @skrk!
...i'm not sure how to identify the mode.
Hi, im not sure yet. it's pretty easy, but i have only one mlv sample.5D2 12bit 3x crop mode M04-2054.MLV (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8621vcd4esje7xw/M04-2054.MLV?dl=0) 415MB from my Dropbox

do something to make the cinema dng white balance the same as the MLVP previewI think this if possible.
If you need it I will upload the original MLV of this test.would be useful. If it's not too large.
In case I get green cast from conversion how do i solve it in MLV producer? You can correct black level at the input tab.
I have a problem with MLVP 2722 Intel.
When I render a 10 bit mlv file in H264 422 or H264 444 I can see a *tmp file in the output directory (with the final size listed), but when it finish, the file dissapears and only remain on disk the audio file. In DNxHD it works ok, and in H264 420 is ok too (tmp file shows 0Kb untill render finish, and then it shows real size).
May be a bug? I don't know...
Thank you.

Windows 7 pro.
If I've shot footage in dual iso and ETTR (on my 5d3 1.1.3), which of the following options do I select in MLV producer:
Low ISO
High ISO
balanced
noise priority
resolution priority
I would appreciate to get some explaination on when to use each of the options above.
And what about any other settings other than whites, blacks and such of course for non-Dual ISO footage. i.e. What do I have to check in the software while I use 5d3 footage and 600d footage.
Thanks in advance

Mefist, I can help. I did workflow for Dual ISO video since no one bother to do that, and I speak Russian. Let me know if you want it, I'll try to help.
Can you add 10-bit and 12-bit raw video support??
I'm writing in English only through google translation))) I do not quite understand how to make dual iso on video. On youtube there is video, through the program mlvfs was translated into dng, there the same frame turns out dark as with the minimum ISO. So I do not understand why this is so.
@Savely
Still not sure how to decompress cr2.
Is it possible to add at least DNG sequence support for import?Cannot decode all DNG-codecs.
The colour space also does nothing to the CinemaDNG output? Or does it?dng contains pure raw. You can romne vertical stripes, focus pixels and hox pixels. Also, scaling cannot be applied.
How do I best do FPN Profiles? You'r doing right.
I have a problem in my RAW video.
When I shoot some scenes, there is an unpleasant pixel color defect, usually it is visible in the openings of the foliage of trees, and also on small white objects.
Does anyone know this problem? Thanx.

Probably you mean compressed mode(cr2)?
In that case... i'm not sure about its support.
Would be really cool if someone ported it to gnu/linuxI can port all processing libs easily, but its impossible to do it with interface.
A suggestion: add a second tab for 3D LUTCan be done.

Paul, you need to open the MLV file, go to the "output" panel, choose DNG and click "render task".
I would suggest you use CinemaDNG instead. It's basically the DNG's into a single file, it will open on after effects (camera raw) the same way, but will save you some size (lossless compression) and is easier to organize (don't need folders with loads of DNG's in them).
Is there any way to do a batch render?Yes , use the file dropdown menu then select as many mlv/raw file as you like.
by any chance experienced lens profile correction issues in Adobe Camera Raw on PC?No , all my Canon EF lens came up automatically except Sigma 50mm prime F1.4 EX DG .
1- any idea why?
2- which would u recommend most using ProRes or the dngs? I just read above about the cinemadng having one file instead of a folder with whole bunch of dng files.
And 3- if I export to ProRes the sharpness made with MLVProducer won't be applied right?
What is your settings for H.264 export?I tried H.264 4:2:2 and also tried H.264 RGB and both did not open in resolve. was able to play them both in an external player but no in resolve.
It will, because ProRes is not a RAW format. It won't be applied if you do it in a RAW format (DNG / CDNG).Hmm Coz I tried same editing with H.264 4:2:2 and with ProRes 4:4:4 and the H264 was sharper that's why I asked
One of the best programs I've seen. Great stuff.
I was wondering if anyone else has this “problem”. When you preview the MLV files in the viewer it looks nothing like the DNG or CDNG files that are exported. Any other file that is exported eg. ApProRes, DNxHD, even tiff sequence is 99% of what you preview in MLVProducer. In the viewer you get a really cinematic picture but the export looks nothing like the picture in the viewer. Here are 3 snapshots if you don’t mind taking a look.
I am using the latest version on win 10, Dell Precision T7610, Intel Xeon CPU 3.4GHz 8 cores.
Sorry Andy600 don't understand. I mean after I have applied color correction, any DNG or CDNG sequences that I output looks nothing like what I have done. I also experienced this in MLRawViewer.DNG and CDNG files are raw format. No color grading or filters will be applied. You can use it and then color grade in another software like resolve or any other
Also if you use MLVFS and mount the MLV's the DNG already look like they have had contrast and saturation applied to them.
If I output another type of file eg. ProRes the color correction that I apply are what was seen in the viewer.

Good news!
New version will support lj92 compressed raw.
But i need to rework some code.
Please send me couple of MLV-files with lj92 compression(new crop mode).

@AWPstar
Also, the first MLV that loads after importing multiple MLV's works fine, but when I select any other MLV in the Group view, only the first frame displays correctly and playing the MLV within the program only increases exposure of said frame until completely white. If I chose any of the Logs the frame turns to grey as I play it.

AWPStar,
Thank you for your fast response but you should take your time to make sure, everything works fine before posting a new version. I downloaded the v.3200 and the whitening issue seems to be gone at palyback and Render Queue export. However:
1) The grading tap is missing,
2) The software does not respond to the Contrast, Blacks, Whites, Saturation, Vibrance, Shadows and Highlights controls, (clip does not change at all) .
I did not have time to check everything but this is what does not seem to be working at first site. So please fix these things and post your v.3200 again.
3) I miss the grading tool from v. 3171. It saves a lot of time with fast basic adjustments. AWPStar, if you could add that tool to the v. 3200, I should greatly appreciate that.
run-time error '5':Send me log-file after error appearance, please.
Very nice app. However, whenever I load my MLV files in MLVProducer, the footage exposure goes down drastically. I have also opened it with MLRawViewer and the exposure there is the same as I shot. But when I edit it in MLVProducer, I have to crank up the exposure with 3.0 - 4.0 to get the same exposure as when I shot. I am aware of the different LOG functions it has. It's on default (AdobeRGB)
Edit: when I import the mlv (the image is still underexposed) and export as cdng. The cdng's look different than what I saw on MLVProducer, and it looks like how I exposed it in camera.
How can I solve this?
I would like to do the color correcting in an app - either MLVProducer or AE. My preference goes to MLVProducer as I won't have to convert the mlv's to cdng's. So hopefully my workflow will be :
Import into MLVProducer, color correct and export as Proress
Import the Proress into adobe PP, edit, grade, export

i can't fix it! Help!
@DoofiiAs long as I open the software, double click then it shuts down immediately, and a window pops up: run-time error '5': invalid procedure call or argument
When this problem appears?

1) Can MLVProducer output to an external monitor? I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K and would like to grade on my external monitor.
1. No. But this is possible. I can implement this.A big +1
You may also want to contact Dfort who created the latest focus pixel maps. He might give you some helpful hints on which ones to implement into the latest version of Producer.
...All in all, excellent work, AWPStar! I can't wait to test your new build!
I can decide which clips to delete and which ones to keep.

Notice that it only logs every other frame or is it skipping frames ?but only at 2.2 frames per secondAs you have cpu with 8 cores you can use 8 thread for rendering. Check settings->Preformance->Threads
So the second time I cleared all the ".idx" files and the a setting file then loaded it up , take very long time to get it to come upIs your disk compressed?
@IDA_ML
Not sure, but try this one. https://sourceforge.net/projects/mlvproducer/files/MLVProducer.exe/download
Also it has many other fixes and improvements.
Can you provide log file?
I don't know what you mean by "log file" and how to generate it but I will definitely test the above version. Thanks.See blue hi lighted bar

I really like the new Fast Color plugin :D give a nice creamy cinematic look.
I did notice 12bit to be a more pleasing image then 14bit , really nice roll off's on the hi end and clean shadow
The most Filmic I ever seen from a 5d2 even better then 5d3 from the example I've seen (too video-ish , for my liken)
It's a pleasure to grade it , specially with mlvproducer ;)
If at all possible I'll be filming in 12bit (not to save disk space or write speed) cause the image is that good !
Finally the diamond is starting to reveal it self , I my never upgrade at this rate.
Hello Reddeercityhttps://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5601.msg198349#msg198349
Which build are you using on 5d2 for 12bit
are you doing a new tutorial soon?Kind of , more like a ml development update for D4's/5D2's
I had the same issue since version after 2722, can't straightly open the MLP
But I can run it with Locate Emulator(Known for running Japanese games on non Japanese language systems) in Japanese or English
I am using Simplified Chinese Windows 10 and I assume your's using non English language (https://www.actranslation.com/mandarin/english-chinese.htm) system as well.
Hi @AWPStar, do you know what algorithm is MLVPDM? How does it compare with AMaZE and IGV? Do you think these are too complex for video?
Also, just as suggestion too, Bart Goossens have some really interesting publications in this subject. These two, for example:
- An Overview of state-of-the-art denoising and demosaicking techniques: toward a unified framework for handling artifacts during image reconstruction (http://www.imagesensors.org/Past%20Workshops/2015%20Workshop/2015%20Papers/Sessions/Session_12/12-01_Goossens.pdf)
- "Computationally Efficient Locally Adaptive Demosaicing of Color Filter Array Images Using the Dual-Tree Complex Wavelet Packet Transform" (http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0061846)
I think the proposed "DTCWPT" algorithm would be very suitable for MLVProducer. His website seem to be this one (https://quasar.ugent.be/bgoossen/publications/).
Hello, im new in the forum. I get "runtime error 9. Subscript out of range" when opening the program with the last build.Send me log file pls.
Send me log file pls.
Download on first post on page 1 mlvp.alpha.build3261 (https://sourceforge.net/projects/mlvproducer/files/mlvp.alpha.build3261.zip/download) then to update to the latest version (3354) you need to download just the "MLVProducer.exe" update file from here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/mlvproducer/files/MLVProducer.exe/download) then replace the old ".exe" with the new one , that's it.
Is there a way to preview my 60fps footage in slow mo (25 fps)?Sure. you can set FrameRate at output tab.
Thanks
Sure. you can set FrameRate at output tab.
Thanks! MLVProducer has smoother preview than MLV App. Does it use any GPU acceleration?I've just checked it out: no, it does not. And indeed, the preview is faster than MLVApp. It offers real-time preview on my machine (25fps) whereas MLVApp achieves ~18fps on the same MLV. Need to have a closer look.

Need to have a closer look.I think that depends on which debayer is used, and what other settings you activate or deactivate! On playback it looks like MLVProducer uses a fast and easy debayer - MLVApp uses bilinear as standard (a faster algorithm comes in next version). On export with the best debayer available the result may look different (on my machine 1.9fps (MLVProducer) vs 5fps (MLVApp)). But I am not sure if it is fair to compare the two algorithms, because they are different - all the realization and concept is completely different! ;) When doing nearly the same: chosing the fastest debayer + a LUT brings on both programs 5fps at playback for me.
But I am not sure if it is fair to compare the two algorithms
Few years ago MlRawViewer did this pretty good but now it is abandoned... ((...if you found a computer where it was working. I never had one until it was discontinued. :P The good thing at MLVProducer & MLVApp: they run on nearly every computer!

My goal is to export my MLV to DNG the more "FLAT" possible
Question 1. When importing MLV files, MLVproducer automatically sets the exposure to +0.77 and Saturation to +100.You can change exposure, but it will affect only on image settings.
Question 2. When I import MLV files, MLVproducer automatically sets the "converting to color space" on AdobeRGB. I would like to know why. Is this a good choice for the canon eos 700d 10bit raw? Is it an objective or an subjective choice/variable ? Do this parameter got an influence for DaVinciResolve ?Same. It doesn't matter for dng.
I love MLVProducer and i think it's the best MLV processing app for my workflow cuz I am able to set hotpixel manually and clean false colors without any artifacts. You have false color artifacts on 5D3 clips?! Really?!
...
I use a Canon 5D mark III if it helps.
You have false color artifacts on 5D3 clips?! Really?!
Do you have the .mlv file that's having a issue ?
Can you post a link to it so I test it ?
Yes, if I filming a tree with leaves and have a light bakground. Check here! This is "normal" in 1x recording mode (non-crop) and mostly happens at hard contrast edges. Using some debayer algorithms may increase or lower such artifacts. In MLV-Producer and MLVApp you can select between multiple debayer algorithms... give that a try. In MLV-Producer I don't know exactly which one is best in this situation, in MLVApp it should be IGV.

Is that not normal?

I tried removing the vertical stripes in both, MLV-Producer and MLVApp. MLVApp removed them completely and the algorithm is opensource. In MLV-Producer it was removed ~50% only... but maybe the MLVApp algorithm (coming from another ML tool here in the forum, forgot which one) can be added to MLV-Producer.
fixed: File Read-only fix
fixed: Save Preset dialog
added: Strength slider for 3DLut
added: mp4 file format for h264 and MPEG2
added: "Range to White Level" input option
