Title: Recovering MLV Files from Card
Post by: digitalre on April 04, 2015, 02:47:25 AM
Hi All

I had done some recording in MLV format for a couple of shoots, but when I got home to import as I usually do off the card, nothing showed up (no folders, files etc).

So I followed the advice on the forum here and used the latest version of Photorec which supports MLV files to recover the CF card. This worked ok, however I was only left with a series of MLV files which are 3.6mb in size.

If I open these in RAWMagic, the timecode, iso etc are all correct, however it's only showing there is 1 frame in each file.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to recover all frames from each file?

Thanks

did the camera behave weird during your shoot?
did it crash or failed to power down?

No problems at all - worked fine, no crashing or freezing. Turned off ok at the end.

@TheKman 5D Mark III's 26/3/2015 Nightly is rock solid really put it to the test with both full HD 1920x1080p 24fps, and 1920x6.. 60, 50, 48fps no problems so far.  When the card gets full it stops gives an error message than all the files are there LOVE it.
