Title: canon 7d sigma 150mm2.8 focus stacking trouble
Post by: BadEnar on March 24, 2015, 12:01:53 PM
Trying to activate focus stacking:
When in photo mode, the ML-meny says "only possible in live view"
When in live view, the ML-meny says "switch to photo mode"

Lens problem?

Do you have a lens able to run a focus stack? Doesn't have to be a macor lens.
Are you able to take a video showing cam's screen and link it here? Vid's quality doesn't matter.

What do you get in Liveview in Focus tab?

Lens: Sigma 150mm 1:2.8 APO MACRO DG HSM (old version, no stabilizer)

Movie works fine.

So..."Your lens did not report focus distance" is a problem I suppose  :)

Sorry, but you have to add a caption for those pictures. I have no idea what you're doing.
Is there any chance you mixed up Liveview mode and Video mode? Please redo first picture showing cams buttons and switches.
Or just enable Photo mode and press Liveview button. Don't set switch to the left!

And I wasn't asking if you are able to use video with your cam but showing a video about what happens with the cam = showing the screen during operation.

you know...I'm an idiot. Of course I mixed it up somehow. I quit coffee three days ago...

Focus stackning worked flawless!

Thanks for your effort, to bad it was misguided to an idiot... ;)
