Title: Canon 5D Mk3 - Hdmi Question - Different Firmwares
Post by: swinxx on March 20, 2015, 10:11:57 PM
Hello,
can anyone please describe the differences of firmware 1.1.3 and 1.2.3 in terms of hdmi stream output.
what does clean hdmi within firmware 1.2.3 mean?
i have now installed 1.2.3 and used a hmdi cable with my tv cause my external monitor has not been arrived yet. however, i have seen the upper and lower ml bars, but was not able to stretch/destretch the picture with anamorphic preview option? is that intendet not to work?
however, i also read that its not good for the camera when i up and downgrade often (from 1.1.3 to 1.2.3 and back again) because the different firmwares change code within the camera every time i change the firmware and this may harm the camera. sorry, but i have never heard from such a behavior..

a1ex: is this really happening when changing firmware?

thank you very much. sw

LOL @dubzeebass

I doubt upgrading/downgrading hurts the 5D3 (done this over 15 times) other than confusing the crap out of itself. (Only if it had a brain of its own) LoL

Clean HDMI out means full 1080p for 123 as oppose to the limitations from 113, I'm assuming so? (Preferably 113 to get the most out of ML)

However, looking forward to your external monitor and hopefully it'll mesh well with ML on it.
