Title: Wireless transmitter receiever?
Post by: emphram on February 20, 2015, 04:30:40 PM
Hello,

I bought a pack of neewer lapel / lavalier mics and I'm getting good results using it with my tascam dr-05, but I'm interested in making them wireless. I'm looking for a set of clip on trasnmitters that allow me to hook up 3.5mm mics and a receiver that allows me to use two or three of these at a time. Any solutions?

a good one wont be cheep and max there is a 2 channel one, meaning 2 bodypacks transmitter and one dual channel receiver.

here is selection of respectable brands (they really work) and dual channel systems:

and also check what are legal frequency bands where you live!!!

I get the impression from the prices that these devices are over qualified for what I would be doing with them. I just want to hook up two mics to two people and a receiver to the camera. I can't see why they would cost nearly 2,000 dollars. As for legal bands, in Mexico nobody really cares, besides I don't need more than 10m range.

:) ok nobody cares (until you upset them, the same story here in Latvia), but you still have top be aware of the surrounding broadcasts, like tv stations, mobile internet, and so on. I honestly have no idea of the radio spectrum there, but you should check it out, so you would not have interference.

as for pricing - you wanted the dual channel option, if you skip that - and can have two receivers - price goes down. B&H is not a particularly cheep store either, thus you can find the same things much much cheaper at local dealers. Or even second hand.

I personally really like Sennheiser systems because they are dependable, stable and durable. Ive have worked on couple tv series indoor and outdoor with 2-4 systems simultaneously + boom, and they worked like a treat. depending on usage battery set lasts about a day of shooting which is grate.

never buy 9V battery ones they last 3-5h at best, 2xAA work like charm.

on cheep brands mipro has good radio systems, but their microphones are as bad as they get.

the new Rode wireless systems seam promising and their lavs are good.
