Title: python script
Post by: tpwilkerson on February 04, 2015, 07:19:19 PM
Anyone know how to use Baldand's python script on a Mac to recover corrupt clips without footers?

I'm not sure where to download it or what to do with it once I have it.

Have you tried below suggestion? Hex fiend works good for mac.
Check reply #14 in thread below.

I'm trying to wrap my head around what they're saying. What does "12 lines x 16 bytes per line" mean?
QuoteWhat worked for me, was to copy the last 192 bytes (eg. 12 lines x 16 bytes per line; begins with RAWM as seen in the ASCII column) of a file from the same camera shot at the same resolution, and append it to the damaged file, replacing any final truncated line.

This is what my RAW file looks like in Hex Fiend

Also where does the python script come into the play? Is it something I'm supposed to download?

How big is your file? I think you simply open your last spanned file, or damaged file in hex fiend and copy paste one ofshields suggested sizes. Save or export to a new file. This solution has nothing to do with the python script.
Start by opening your file in hex fiend.
Tip
Do a copy of the original

I get the scrambled pink frames for the first 871 frames of the clip and then it's black for the rest.
