Title: 5Diii w/Ninja 2 - long recording solution? (turn off auto-sleep)
Post by: pluckmyeyeout on December 27, 2014, 07:49:10 PM
Hi all - I'm trying to record for a long time - 10 hours - and have found the Atomos Ninja 2 to be a great way to this. I've got a 5D mark III and am recording with the Ninja, w/no card recording. I want to be able to leave the rig set up for the whole time and not have to do anything. Before installing ML, I'd have to touch the camera every 30 minutes to make sure the HDMI signal didn't go to sleep. This is unrelated to the standard Canon menu option of "auto-off".

So, looking for a solution, over 10 hours, without having to touch the camera, to be able to have the HDMI signal never sleep. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Use an arduino to make a little robot that pushes a button on the camera every 29 and 1/2 minutes.
