Good Job. I have a 6D to but i shoot with set up dual iso mode in this way. 1600 / 400 or 800 /200 to have an higher shutter speed. What is your opinion about that type of set up ? thank you Landagent. :D
here,I took two photos. One Exposure compensation is -1EV, but I feel dark. The second Exposure compensation is 0EV. It's very good. So you don't change Exposure compensation. Canon ISO 50, Dual ISO 100/800.
Try dual together with ETTR.
You really need to seek out an optimum exposure, ie tonal density to give you a solid basis for post processing.
When using ETTR play around with the % setting.
Cheers
Garry
Yes, I tried to use Dual ISO with ETTR. But ETTR is always wrong. ETTR reduces exposure compensation -2EV sometimes, why? I don't know. Sometimes is right. In a word, use a combination of inconvenient.

Because ETTR is trying to protect the highlights. If the scene has a large dynamic range, Canons exposure determination will overexpose the highlights to ensure that the midtones are reasonably exposed (no noise). Because ETTR is designed to protect the highlights, negative exposure compensation is used. This doesn't make it wrong!
As garry23 mentioned above, you can try playing with the highlight ignore (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5693.0) setting in AETTR. If you want to capture the highlights
and shadows of a large dynamic range scene, you need to use dual_iso, or get a Nikon or something.
Dual-ISO @ 100/1600 for life (100/800 to be on the safe side) is all we need...
Dear Audionut:
Thank you. I use single ISO with ETTR is ok. I'll try Dual ISO with ETTR.
