Title: Formatting in ExFAT with Canon 5DM3
Post by: actingnurse on June 10, 2014, 11:25:22 AM
Question - trying to figure this out. I have a few 64Gb CF cards - is it possible to format them into ExFAT in camera so that I get one file - or should I just stick with regular formatting and have the files split at 4Gb? I read somewhere that you can't format to ExFat unless its a 128Gb card or higher?

Sorry if it's a dumb question - it's been a long night and I was confused about it. Thanks!

you need to format the card on your computer as exFat to get continuous recording, camera automatically formats as Fat32 which breaks recording and split files

Kbam - If I stick with Fat32 - there's really no difference aside from the split files which the raw converters can piece together right? are there any benefits to exFat?
