I was trying to record raw video at 60fps and a reasonable resolution i found was 1280 x 448 which gives me reasonable data rate to record
however, i realize after i record, what was recorded was a cropped composition of the 1920 x 672!
so essentially my framing with a 16mm lens turns out to be a somewhat 21 or even 24 mm lens
is there a way to overcome this in camera crop when shooting with 1280 x 448?
No. If you record any resolution other than the maximum resolution for the camera's current mode, then there is going to be cropping (if you are in crop mode, there is going to be additional cropping). ML raw does not and cannot maintain the same FOV. Lowering the resolution and keeping the same FOV would require real-time re-sizing of the image: impossible. There's barely enough time to just get the raw data from the Canon buffers where it is intercepted to the storage media. All ML can do is simply not include some of the pixels (crop the image).
