Title: 60D sensor damage?
Post by: bigstu80 on March 28, 2014, 03:55:53 AM
I don't know if this is ML related, the Cinestyle profile that I use, general wear and tear or some setting that has got screwed up, but can anyone shed some light on why all my black levels are green?

Bottom left corner shows RGB values.  'Native' ISO's (160/320/640/etc) have the least green influence and the 'fake' ISOs show amplified green.  Since the Cinestyle profile raises the minimum black I thought it might be causing some side effect.  But even if I go back to a built in picture profile, there are still traces of green in the black.

What build are you using?
Your video says version 2.3.  But that can't possibly be the case if you are recording in raw.

Native ISOs are multiples of 100.  All other ISOs are derived from these.

Whoops, brain fade.  I meant unprocessed footage, not RAW.  Therefore this is also probably the wrong forum.

As far as I'm aware the 60D follows 160/320/etc.  I think this is different to other models.  And based on visual observation from the video you'll see the muddy black (green) puddle resolve into detail every time it hits a multiple of 160.  The other ISO's simply brighten the image but don't affect quality.

Have fun reading this (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=10111.0).

Try a different picture style to rule out cinestyle.

Download the latest nightly build (http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/) and try that.  You won't receive much support for the "stable" build, which is significantly old.

I like Marantz  ;)

Holy smokes! The new build fixed it. The odd thing is when I put ML on originally it didn't have a green colour cast.  Maybe one of the ML config files got out of whack?

In any case, I'm once again a happy chap, thanks for your help :)
