Title: 500 mbs CF cards.
Post by: jafa on March 22, 2014, 10:54:37 AM
So ive been reading about the imminent release of 500mbs cf cards this year and I was wondering how this will relate to being able to record much higher resolutions continuously like 2560/3584 ect will it be possible or will it be restricted to camera limitations (meaning 5dmk3 that I use) , this is obviously a noob question cause thats what I am at the moment.

Cheers
jafa

Won't do any good in Canon's DSLR line of today. The fastest interface found here is CF-card UDMA-7 and that's specified for 167 MByte/s transfer speed.
Those cards have to use CFast/XQD (or something similiar more up to date) just for transfer interface reasons.

Ciao
