Post by: pv25pv on March 12, 2014, 11:05:29 AM
i couldn't find that info on official specs of the camera but some say its around 167mb/s..although the tech people in komputerbay told me that they are sure the limit is @100mb/s...anyone knows?

You may be got confused when specs meets reality.
UDMA-7 specs may give transfer speeds up to 166 MByte/s. That's the maximum as in theoretical possible.
In reality the transfer speed may be bottlenecked by slower devices in the transfer chain and by software issues.

Note also that write speeds are typically lower than read speeds.

Hello,

We recommend the 1000X - is faster than any of the ML based cameras. The 1050X is even faster but you will not be able to take advance to the speed as the 5DM3 is limited to 100MB/s:

We suggest you use settings recommended by this manual for the 5DM3 for the ML build/s:
http://www.dvxuser.com/guides/ml_raw_guide_5DIII_full.pdf

ML camera limitations:

Please ensure that you are using these cards with a true UDMA7 compatible USB 3.0 card reader. If these cards are not used with UDMA7 compatible devices, they will eventually corrupt the card/data on it. We recommend investing in a Kingston USB 3.0 FCR-HS3.
Thank You
