Title: Strange Activity
Post by: thomasridout on March 10, 2014, 03:31:06 PM
Hello!

For some reason 2 RAW video files on my 32 GB CF card seem to be corrupt. It would not let me transfer these 2 files; one file which was in the middle of the recorded data and one which was the last clip recorded. The other RAW files on the card transferred fine but for some reason I get an error when transferring these 2 clips. Another larger 64gb card I filled had no such issues.

QuoteThe Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "M09-0842.RAW" can't be read or written.
(Error code -36)

The sizes of the non transferable files are normal.

I tried transferring on Windows as well as OSX but, no luck.

a) I am wondering why this may have happened
b) how can I avoid this? Always format the card on a computer?
c) How can I make these dang files transfer? Recovery software?

Much thanks for any input

Question!

If the files are unrecoverable; can I extract footage from the .R00 .R01 files?? I notice RAWMagic doesn't accept the .R00 file by itself
