Title: 600d postprocessing rendering
Post by: verfelscht on February 28, 2014, 01:56:26 AM
Dear people,

I've got a problem with rendering 600d magic lantern raw footage: Cinemascope (1:2,35) 1280:336 upresed to 1280:544. Until now I've used premiere pro cs 6 and premiere after effects and rendered the .dng raw footage to .avi to postprocess in premiere pro. There are some color issues, bright spots, that seem to be irritated between different color options (like: bright landscapes with trees, that have a sunny side, where red and blue and other colors mix in at the sharp edge towards the sun. I think it's .avi issue.)

Question is: What is the best format for export .dng to postprocess in premiere pro or other programs? .avi doesn't properly work, I think.

Thanks for your advice!

Greetings

See this (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9700.0) topic.

I use Cineform to transcode... its work smooth to me. Workflow: Escho raw2dng compile > LR 5 > TIFF sequence on AE CC > Cineform 444 > Video Enhancer (resize) > PP CC.

Hey Luiz,

thank you for your quick answer. I'm gonna read that other topic. I've checked again: The light edges with the color irritations seem to be in the footage even before rendering it to .avi. The problem starts somewhere else.

Ah, yes, if your card is not fast enough, you can create dng that's magenta contaminated... these frames are corrupted and become unusable. Besides the magenta frames, as aforesaid, there is the so-called "bad pixel" where there is no information and that end up generating a colorful points account debayer interpolating.
Escho created a compilation of raw2dng which prevents the latter from happening.

Greetings.
