Title: Shooting Raw on the Canon T2i/550D - Optimum settings
Post by: SuperHans28 on January 26, 2014, 02:57:34 PM
Shot a little test of raw footage earlier on my Sandisk Extreme 45Mb/s card and these artifacts showed up every few frames - (http://s13.postimg.org/yynnx7t2f/Sequence_02_Still001.jpg)

So just wondering what the optimum settings were to shoot Raw, I know shooting full res is out of the windows (I shot at  864x486).

Thanks

use the latest nightly build. if you want sound as well, use 22 feb 14 nighly build and shoot in mlv_rec
i have made some short films as trials and everything works perfect
shot in mlv raw with sound. i used only kid lens 18-55mm

I'm pretty sure you can shoot pretty much continuous at resolutions higher than that.

you cant shoot in high resolution but you can shoot much better than this with the right lens. it was just a trial.
one importing thing i wanted to share with you guys- i shoot in raw 1152 X 460 and upscale to 1080p and compare with h264 recorded in 1080p. O my god raw is much sharper. its unbelievable. thats the 2nd reason why i love to shoot in raw rather than shooting h264 1080p and the 1st reason why i like raw is you have a lot of controls in post prodution.
