Title: LV Problem
Post by: garry23 on April 22, 2019, 10:45:57 AM
Does anyone know why I get the following error stream?

It's driving me nuts!

OK...traced it.

Did a clean reload of the latest Lua fix on 5D3

No scripts.

Added in modules and you get the above when ETTR module is loaded.

Oh dear  :-X

Right, these messages are printed by ETTR, but only when trying to recover from overexposure.

Reason: when your image is underexposed, it's relatively easy to figure out how much to boost the exposure (the main issue being Gaussian noise that interferes with the histogram when the test image is too dark). But... how much to go back if the image is overexposed?

ETTR is trying to guess how the histogram would look like after the overexposed area, from previous frames. I'm not fully happy with how it works, hence the "fail" messages.

@a1ex

Thanks for the reassurance.

Sounds like I just ignore it without impact?

Cheers
