Title: Campaign Ad Shot with 7D Raw
Post by: N/A on October 09, 2014, 05:31:56 PM

I shot this campaign ad for a candidate running for US House of Representatives on the 7D, in MLV 2.2k and 2.5k. They needed a quick turnaround on it so I did some basic color correction, no real grading though. Also recorded and mixed the audio for it. Looks like the Youtube compression screwed up the color and gamma slightly, especially on his skin tone.

Shot with the Sigma 35mm 1.4 and a Pro Am 8 ft. jib crane.

Very nice and crisp!

Since I bought a new 1440p monitor I am trying 2.5k myself. It is working, though only in zoom (x5) mode. The footage is zoomed (cropped?). What can I do to use the full angle of my 35mm lens or is that not possible?

Yes, the max height in non-crop is 1728, you can get 2496x1044 for roughly 13 or 14 seconds in crop mode. By default it crops from the center but this can be changed with the joystick. The camera crops from the sensor and unfortunately we can't record the full resolution of it in raw.
