Hi,
I made myself an Excel spreadsheet that calculates RAW bitrates and recording times for various card capacities, so I thought I'd share it.
Mainly you would be plugging numbers in A3, B3 and C3.
Please let me know if you have any ideas for improvements.

Looks good, thanks.
I just updated it so that if you change the color depth (which you probably wouldn't normally do) it will plug into the formula (I had it hard-coded to "14" before).

nice work !
Hey Frank,
Are you handy with a compiler? Would you consider making it a module?
I put a module out recently that presents some menus, does some math, and shows the results at

It seems the pattern could be adapted to a bitrate calculator.
Regards.
Hi ewinemiller,
I don't have experience doing that sort of thing, but if someone who does wants to try I would be glad to explain any of the formulas that aren't clear from the spreadsheet. The math isn't complicated.
The link was dead so I refreshed it.
This has helped to plan storage needs for an upcoming video shoot. Greatly appreciated.
Updated with compression ratio field ("Comp ratio").
At =1 there is no compression. From what I understand, ML lossless tends to run from .4 to .6, depending on the nature of the subject being shot, so .5 might be a good value to get an estimate.
