I just downloaded the RAW module for my 550D and the maximum write speed is 20MB/s. Do you think you can crack this open to any speed at all?

Step 1: Buy reflow station.
Step 2. Buy faster but somewhat compatible IC for SD card handling.
Step 3. Rewrite canon FW to support this new IC.
Up for it?
Because canon purposefully crippled 550D when UHS was a gleam in some engineers eye.
