BUG (?)

Camera in movie mode, Crop movie = ON... video works fine.
Suddenly I like to take a photo... Switch camera to photo mode, focus, press shutter... oops... press shutter! Press harder!... Hmmm, no photo!

Go back to movie mode, Crop Movie = OFF
Photo mode: Press shutter... works fine again.

To be short: You can't take photos when switching from movie to photo mode, while using Crop movie.

EDIT: Used satriani's ML_N_04.08.2013

By the way... Thanks for the update(s)! :)

I can second this. Although a turn off/on of the camera also allows me to take photos again.

And i forgot to ask, is there a bug track pages so that i can file bugs/check existing bugs?

Thanks

noticed the error, or rather strange behavior exposure when you change the shutter speed from 25 to 8000, and then back to 8000 to 25 then after that the video flickers, the exposure is like jumpinga little bit darker and lighter but it does not stop until you turn off the unit.

:o perhaps a stupid question but after make a raw video how open it on computer ?
???

and when I want to make a video, my 650D record only 1 second and after stop automaticully ???

Thank's for your answer :)
RAW Video defaults to the highest resolution which will only record for a second.  Back off the resolution to 720p24 for continuous recording with a SanDisk 45MB/s card (or better) (results as stated elsewhere... I don't have a 45MB/s card yet)

RAW video and especially the post processing of it is a VAST topic for discussion elsewhere in this forum.  List of threads on post-processing link below.  Many threads are about RAW processing.

Video pauses often and irregular when recording in crop mode during a lot of movement in the picture... as in scenes with lots of activity and during fast panning. Just like the card gets too much data to save fast enough.

Upload a video with the issue. I can't reproduce it

Yes, the installer (or any canon update for that matter) won't work on cards bigger than 32 GB

This build has everything enabled.

I hope the problem on 64gb card will fix soon

Just start recording and then sweep your camera randomly up/down/left/right during recording.
I see the pauses during recording on the display, and after recording during playback.

Well, can't reproduce it. Maybe it's the lens or the card (did you do a low level format?).

Yes, the card was low level formatted.

But... I did some further testing with other lenses.

EF-S 18-135mm STM IS has this problem, no matter if IS is on or off
No problems in standard Canon (non crop) mode.

EF-S 18-55mm IS II (kitlens): No problem
EF 24-105mm L IS USM: No problem
EF 40mm STM: No problem

Well I tested it with the 18 55 is stm and it's fine.

So it seems like it is only the 18-135 STM for which the firmware 1.0.4 solved some problems... (if I remember well)

Checked out firmware description (which also points at nanomad's lens)

1. Fixes the following phenomena which may occur when the camera is used in combination with certain lens models equipped with a stepping motor.

◦ Affected lenses: EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM / EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

◦ The camera may freeze in rare instances if you try to shoot with a lens cap attached or meter a subject in  low contrast in Live View (or Movie) shooting.

It looks like there's a temporary freeze instead of freezing completely.

No slice its Eeko. Gop should work tho, flush rate works.

I'm assuming this means that GOP and Flush rate will (more than likely) work, but are not included in this build? What's more, is there a way to port Tragic Lantern to the 650d? Has that been attempted?

Once installed works well, but it appears  Flicker when video recording in play mode!

Thanks for the 1.0.4 - and everything else you guys have been doing for the past 10 months I've been lurking here....successfully did my first ever install this afternoon...smooth and painless...onto a 32gb card first and then onto a 64gb card after reading that all I had to do was check the bootdisk box on EOScard. Thanks again...now to learn all this reborn toy will do.

Posting to say I upgraded and everything is working great thus far and to subscribe to this thread :)

The link for the builds on the first post at this time appears to not be working.

also this is not a request but a curiosity, say we get to beta level and there is more "free time" if that ever happens, would you guys then consider making a more touch friendly interface? sorta similar to the stock canon firmware? again not a request and it doesnt ever need to happen was just wondering if it ever crossed your minds. Thank you very much for all your dedicated time and hard work.

I think ML can be loaded on the 64.  It just takes a different approach.  There is a video on the web about this (putting ML on a 64 gig SD card).  I have been traveling so I have not had time to do this.  When I get a sec I will do this a post a method if someone else has not done this in the mean time.

Modification.  thanks nonomand!!

The issue with >32GB cards is not loading ML on them, but using them in running the initial firmware update fir file that sets the bootflag on the camera.  Is this what you are talking about?

Once the fir file has been run, you can use a >32GB card with ML on it.

ML on 64gb card:  This is what I did as a first time user with the 1.0.4 alpha...loaded it onto a 32gb card first for the initial install and then onto a 64gb card after reading that all I had to do was check the bootdisk box on EOScard on the 64gb card.  This is where I learned how:

It is all written in the Installation guide http://wiki.magiclantern.fm/install  how to install on additional cards or how to run on a 64 GB card
