If you are looking for speed, then enable the Hack3D to get over the hump.  This feature seems to give a little extra writing speed boost so that some Height x Width selections might work.

PENALTY:  No LiveView update.

Here are my findings for 5D3 with Lexar 32GB 1000X

1920x1152 at 24 fps FROM 600 FRAMES TO 4GB
1920x1152 at 25 fps FROM 376 FRAMES TO 4GB
1920X960 at 29.97 fps FROM 261 FRAMES TO ALMOST 1161 FRAMES(3.7 GB)
1880x960 at 29.97 fps FROM 128 FRAMES TO 360 <<<< - IT APPEARS SLOWER! why?
1600X672 AT 50 FPS FROM 230 FRAMES TO 600
1440X540 AT 60 FPS FROM 391 FRAMES TO 4 GB

To help the DEVS and everybody it would be a good idea if specific RAW video issues are discussed in a separate thread based on the camera under discussion.

As a note... the 650d can do raw_rec. The max for 2.35:1 is 1440 x 614 continuous on my Sandisk Uhs-I 95MB/s (card bus maxes out around 40 MB/s).

However there is an issue where strange marks  are burned into the data, more than likely this is on account of the hybrid AF CMOS technology in the new sensor. Hopefully Nanomad (who is porting ML 2.3 to the T4i) will be able to get some clearer frames.

Everything can be found in the New Ports 650d thread.

This has nothing to do with the topic.

Since the EOS 50D posesses the same DIGIC4 SOC and compact flash storage as the 5DMKII, I think it might also benefit from this hack.

Raw video on 50d and 40d

Maybe it would be beneficial to clean-up all these different RAW threads, and bring some sort of system into them by grouping each camera model based on:

+ SOC Family being used (DIGIC3,4,5)
+ Storage capability (Compact Flash vs. SD)

Since that seem to be the relevant parameters which will affect the usability/portability of new features concerning RAW recording.

Now attempting to set-up a dev environment for ML.

Does this modification work for other cameras besides the 5d Mark III? Nice find by the way.  Keep it up!

Yep... and you get 2 kinds. One with preview and no preview + extra edmacs disabled besides just LV.
