Need help asap about 500d

Just got a new 500d (i know it's old but it's all i could afford)
Im trying to install the firmware but the ML page says i have to use firmware v1.1.1 but the latest one on the canon's page is 1.1.2
The eos utility doesn't support the 500d to downgrade and i can't find the older one
Is it safe to install it over the 1.1.2 ?
Please i need answers asap
