reading commands from file on wifi enabled card in real time for wifi contol

I wonder if its possible having a wifi enabled sd card and writing magic latern commands to a file on it (using lets say an smartphone app)
and then having magic latern constantly check the file and execute the commands - it would create a wifi enabled camera
I'm not sure if its possible because two devices would have to use the sd card in the same time.

thanks for the info that this is possible  - I'm waiting now for my wifi sd adapter to arrive and start hacking
