noob question (removing non-ML card)

If I start up the camera with a non ML card (i.e., booting Canon firmware only), do I still have to wait 5 secs to remove the card once the the door is open?

Since there's no autexec.bin, I'd say no.

Its a good question though and we should probably add a line to the manual?

Yes...it's very clear that we must wait until the camera finishes reading the card (mentioned every where on the site and on the documentation), but not so clear if we should always do it or just in case we are using a ML card.

Thanks for the excellent work with ML and for the assistance in this forum.

PS: I am using a 5D mk II and Lexar cards by the way...
