Hey all, with all the googling I've done, I've found answers to most of my questions but one that still lingers is resolving the frame skipping issues.

I tried a Class 10 card that definitely could not handle it and then I tried the SD Extreme Pro which handles RAW on my Blackmagic Pocket very well. And even that had skipped frames.

Is there a certain card that works well? OR is it a combination of right card and right settings? I've been spending a lot of time messing around with this puzzle and still don't have an answer and like I said I haven't found a google result that outlines how to achieve stable RAW shooting on the EOS M.

I see videos online but they are all very short. Is this more of a proof of concept thing or could one conceivably depend on RAW capability on the EOS M for a project?

If someone out here already knows and can tell me the secret, it would be greatly appreciated!

You probably have the resolution set too high. The best quality you can get out of the EOSM is 1280x720 with the crop mode hack. Load the mlv_rec module, set the Canon menu to 1920x1080, turn on "Movie crop mode" and the RAW video (MLV) Aspect Ratio to 16:9 and Resolution to 1280x720. That should allow you to achieve stable raw recording on the EOSM.

You can also shoot full frame mode on the EOSM but only in what is known as mv720 which exhibits lots of aliasing. You can read more about that here: http://magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=16608

You will also need to deal with the focus pixels that show up on raw video. There's a topic about that too: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=16054
