pretty cool! I'd love to see a test shot done with a macro lens.

Interesting...
just bought 2 high speed sync flash for my 5d2, need to try this too with my macro lens.

Thank's for sharing

Just tried some water drop motion detection with hss flash, but it's not fast enough...so, impossible to get theses perfects drops of water.

First time for me using this technique, so perhaps i'm making something wrong...

Anyway, got some nice picture with firing myself manualy.

Any tips ?

There are several communities around covering drop photography. I know not a single photog having consistently good results without dedicated hardware. Timers/triggers, valves/beam sensors and experimenting with ingridients (thickening) and temperature.
Frankly: Don't expect to get things done without.

Have to say that i am pretty nicely surprised with the results.
Photos was took by my 8 years old son, and i was preposed to drop the water...

Will post some post edited pictures here tomorow.

Ps : and sorry for my crappy english...

here my very first test in high sync photography, done yesterday with the help of my son.
Was a quick test but results are pretty good for me, with some preparation it could be even better...

Those photos are fantastic!
By the way, I think you meant "son," not "sun."
