Hi,

I was wondering what are some of the best techniques out there for day to night timelapse setting? I want my video to stop flickering so much when the camera is trying to adjust or sometimes night time would still look like it's day time because of the auto-shutter speed?

Like many I'm not an expert but here are a few pointers from my experience.

You can ramp using various methods, including ML.

You can use ETTR and milligan's Bridge script in post.

Alternatively, like me, use LRTimelapse with Lightroom in post.

Finally, my preferred method is a hybrid. I use ETTR to set the first exposure, then I use DSLRDashboard to control the Holy Grail adjustments.

Deflickering is an additional step in post. Once again I personally use LRT.

If you haven't been to the LRT web site, go and have a look as there are great tutorials there.

Bottom line: read and experiment. Although not all may agree with me, I personally see ML ehanced photography as an additional tool, I do not try and get ML to do everything.

Cheers

Auto ETTR and @dmilligan's Script within Advance Intervalometer in ML.
